It's Not Killing Me es el álbum debut en solitario del guitarrista de blues estadounidense Mike Bloomfield. Fue lanzado en 1969 a través de Columbia Records. Tras su éxito con Paul Butterfield Blues Band, The Electric Flag, y en las grabaciones de Super Session con Al Kooper, Bloomfield se asoció con antiguos colegas para grabar este álbum en gran parte autoescrito.

Metropolis - Metropolis

1974 - Metropolis 

Metropolis fue una banda alemana a mediados de la década de 1970 de Berlín Occidental, iniciada por ex miembros de otras bandas berlinesas Tom Hildebrand (Mythos) y Manfred Opitz y Michael Westphal (Zarathustra). Michael Duwe se unió a ellos después de regresar de la grabación del álbum Seven Up con Ash Ra Tempel y Timothy Leary. El guitarrista Helmut Binzer, que vino del sur de Alemania, y la cantante Ute Kannenberg, en ese momento más conocida como Tanja Berg en los hit parades alemanes ("Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye" - versión alemana), completaron la banda poco después.

Mötley Crüe - Theatre of Pain

2021 - Theatre of Pain (40th Anniversary Remastered)

Cuesta creer que Mötley Crüe esté celebrando ahora 40 años como banda. Habiéndose convertido en una de las bandas de rock más notorias que existen, muchos no hubieran creído que, 40 años después de unirse, no solo seguirían vivos, sino que también seguirían tocando. Su catálogo posterior incluye más de 10 álbumes que incluyen una banda sonora de su película de Netflix "The Dirt" y álbumes en vivo. Como parte de la celebración, la banda ha lanzado versiones remasterizadas de sus álbumes Girls Girls Girls y Theatre of Pain junto con una gama completamente nueva de mercadería en la que hincar el diente. Habiendo sido fan durante muchos años y creciendo con su música, aproveché la oportunidad para ofrecer mi opinión sobre el lanzamiento del álbum Theatre of Pain (40th Anniversary Remastered).

Podría decirse que Theatre of Pain puede no ser el más conocido de los álbumes de Crüe, pero eso no significa que no incluya algunos de sus grandes éxitos. De hecho, una de sus baladas más conocidas, “Home Sweet Home”, tuvo sus inicios en este álbum y ayudó a llevar a la banda a nuevas alturas encabezando escenarios de todo el mundo. También nos trajo la versión de "Smokin’ In The Boys Room ", que posiblemente sea otro de sus temas más reconocidos. La diferencia entre el álbum original y la remasterización del 40 aniversario es que faltan las demos, las pistas alternativas y la grabación del solo de Tommy. Sin embargo, lo que obtenemos es más claridad en las pistas principales del álbum. Esta claridad proporciona un sonido más nítido que aún logra capturar el sonido sucio y sucio por el que la banda es famosa. "Use it or Lose it" es el ejemplo perfecto de esto, ya que su rápido sonido de bombeo de adrenalina todavía suena verdadero mientras suena más claro y un poco más refinado.

Es seguro decir que los Crüe han tenido una de las carreras más interesantes y han sido pioneros del estilo de vida del rock and roll que nos ha encantado ver. Si bien sus payasadas pueden ser bien conocidas, la música en sí que esta banda ha producido es algo que influirá y ha influido en generaciones de músicos. Una nota interesante para mencionar es que si bien muchos de nuestros puntos de vista han cambiado desde el lanzamiento original de Theatre Of Pain en 1985, "Fight For Your Rights" demuestra que, si bien el tiempo puede haber pasado, muchos problemas no han cambiado y la música de la banda sigue siendo relevante en esta época.

Love Generation - Montage

1968 - Montage 

The Love Generation fue fundada por los hermanos John Bahler y Tom Bahler. El grupo estuvo activo desde 1967 hasta 1969. John y Tom eran vocalistas en el establo Imperial Records; eran parte de los Ron Hicklin Singers. Dos de las canciones de The Love Generation - "Together (Havin 'a Ball)" y "Let the Good Times In" - se utilizaron en el episodio piloto de The Partridge Family. Forever Changes es el tercer álbum de estudio de la banda de rock estadounidense Love, lanzado por Elektra Records en noviembre de 1967. Fue el último álbum grabado por la formación original de la banda; después de su finalización, Bryan Maclean abandonó el grupo con amargura y los otros miembros fueron despedidos por el líder Arthur Lee. El álbum vio al grupo abrazar un sonido y una orquestación más sutiles orientados al folk, mientras que el compositor principal Lee exploró temas más oscuros que aluden a la mortalidad y su creciente desilusión con la contracultura de la década de 1960.
