Close to the Edge Tour 1972 1973


La gira vio a la banda tocar en un total de 97 conciertos en los Estados Unidos, Canadá, el Reino Unido, Japón y Australia en siete etapas: tres en América del Norte, dos en Europa, una en Asia y una en Australasia.

El apoyo provino de Eagles, Gentle Giant, Edgar Winter, Lindisfarne, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Gary Wright, The J Geils Band, Wild Turkey, Badger y Focus.

La alineación para la gira no cambió durante toda su duración; la alineación fue la séptima encarnación de Yes. Bill Bruford dejó la banda el 19 de julio de 1972, después de que terminaran las sesiones de grabación de Close to the Edge. Paul Desmond (nacido Paul Emil Breitenfeld, 25 de noviembre de 1924-30 de mayo de 1977) fue un saxofonista y compositor de jazz alto estadounidense, mejor conocido por su trabajo con el Dave Brubeck Quartet y por componer el mayor éxito de ese grupo, "Take Five".
