John Symon Asher Bruce (14 de mayo de 1943 - 25 de octubre de 2014) fue un bajista, cantautor, músico y compositor escocés. Ganó popularidad como co-vocalista principal y bajista de la banda de rock británica Cream. Después de que el grupo se disolvió en 1968, siguió una carrera en solitario y también tocó con varias bandas.
A principios de la década de 1960, Bruce se unió a la Organización Graham Bond, donde conoció a su futuro compañero de banda, Ginger Baker. Después de dejar la Organización Graham Bond, se unió a John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, donde conoció a Eric Clapton, quien también era su futuro compañero de banda. Su segundo matrimonio fue con Margret Seyfer en 1982, con quien tuvo dos hijas, Natascha y Kyla, y un hijo Corin. Murió de una enfermedad hepática el 25 de octubre de 2014 en Inglaterra, a los 71 años.
