Anarchy on 45 (1976-1992)

The Enid es una banda británica de rock progresivo fundada en 1973 por el teclista Robert John Godfrey, anteriormente conocido por su trabajo con Barclay James Harvest.  Otros miembros principales han incluido a los guitarristas fundadores Steve Stewart y Francis Lickerish, y al baterista Dave Storey desde hace mucho tiempo. La membresía de Enid ha sufrido muchos cambios, siempre con Godfrey a la cabeza. La formación actual está formada por Godfrey y el guitarrista Jason Ducker.

Godfrey ha descrito episodios de depresión asociados con períodos de bloqueo del escritor. Además de esto, Godfrey padece diabetes. Reveló en 2014 que le habían diagnosticado la enfermedad de Alzheimer, pero en 2018 anunció que estaba muy recuperado y sospechaba que el diagnóstico original era erróneo. [A partir de 2020, la banda todavía está muy activa, grabando y haciendo giras.

Conmovido emocionalmente por los eventos del 11 de septiembre de 2001, e iniciado durante un desvío de cinco días a Honolulu mientras estaba en tránsito en ese momento, Kitaro ha emergido con su álbum más reflexivo y evocador en años. "Sacred Journey" cuenta la historia de Ku-Kai, un santo budista, mientras realiza la tradicional peregrinación a los 88 templos de la isla japonesa de Shikoku. Haciendo la peregrinación él mismo, Kitaro ha probado las campanas de cada templo y las ha utilizado en sus composiciones. Quizás el tono sagrado de las campanas o los estados de ánimo contemplativos de los templos ha modulado las tendencias más grandilocuentes y sentimentales de Kitaro, mientras esculpe una música que se equilibra entre ambientes pastorales y del espacio profundo, melodías de flauta del desierto y solos de sintetizador en arco. "Sacred Journey" conserva el sonido clásico de Kitaro de la década de 1980, pero ahora se toca con un espíritu renovado.
