The Complete Jan Akkerman es una nueva caja de 26 CD que reúne todos los álbumes de estudio (y más) de la leyenda de la guitarra holandesa Jan Akkerman, quien logró el éxito internacional con la banda Focus.

El guitarrista creativo es bien conocido por su estilo individualista, que combina rock, jazz, blues y barroco en sus proyectos en solitario. Este conjunto de 26 discos incluye los músicos de estudio en solitario, sus grabaciones en vivo más importantes y un CD de pistas raras e inéditas.

El folleto incluye una biografía, algunas fotos inéditas y un desglose de álbum a álbum, con créditos completos (incluidos datos nunca antes publicados sobre quién tocó qué en álbumes específicos) y los propios recuerdos de Jan sobre los 23 álbumes de estudio y en vivo, tomados de entrevistas recientes con Jan.

En términos de masterización, estos provienen de las mejores fuentes disponibles, incluidas cintas analógicas de dos pistas, copias de seguridad digitales y alguna que otra cinta DAT (para el disco de rarezas). Cuando las cintas maestras han desaparecido o no se han podido rastrear, se han utilizado “algunas” gotas de aguja. Todo ha sido remasterizado "cuidadosamente" para mantener el rango dinámico, y algunos son incluso transferencias planas porque no necesitaban mejorarse de ninguna manera.
