The Who llevaban un año y tres meses en su gira de Tommy cuando tocaron en su segundo compromiso en el Festival de la Isla de Wight. Al igual que en 1969, tocaron la mayor parte de su famosa ópera rock, que en ese momento era bastante familiar para el público del festival.
